Sungrow, a global leader in PV and Energy Storage Solutions (ESS) set a new standard for Slovenian industry. In partnership with Termo Shop and distributor Krannich, Sungrow installed a 3,5 MWh ESS at the premises of Thenos. The project is one of the most advanced energy solutions in the manufacturing sector. The successful unveiling of the project took place on November 18, 2025, at Tehnos headquarters in Žalec, Slovenia.
“Our biggest challenge was the high consumption peaks, which represented a major cost,” explain representatives from Tehnos. “But together with our trusted partners we thought beyond that – how to ensure stability and an advantage when the next energy crisis hits. We wanted a solution that would not only reduce costs short term but make us more independent in the long run.”
With the solution, Tehnos has achieved a reduction of 120 kW in consumption peaks, which directly contributes to annual savings that exceed €85,000, underscoring the project's financial viability and long-term value.
A Strategic Leap Towards Energy Independence
Tehnos, a distinguished manufacturer of agricultural and forestry machinery with over 35 years of expertise, has made a forward-thinking investment in 16 units of Sungrows ESS PowerStack. These units are designed to maximize the benefits of Tehnos’s already existing 1.2 MWp PV system, effectively reducing consumption peaks, lowering operational costs, and ensuring energy stability—even in times of energy crisis.
“We are proud to support Tehnos on their journey to energy independence. Our solutions are recognized for their modularity, efficiency, and long service life—qualities that are essential for demanding industrial environments,” said Eleonora Potestio, Head of EU PowerStack Sector Sungrow.
Technology That Empowers the Future
The energy management system was fully engineered, integrated, and commissioned by Termo Shop, using Sungrow’s technology as the system backbone. Termo Shop acted as the lead engineering partner, responsible for: complete system design, development of the EMS logic, integration of PV, battery storage, control systems, project coordination, implementation and testing. This advanced EMS platform allows Tehnos to shave peak consumption, increase energy autonomy, and actively participate in the electricity market—unlocking new financial and operational benefits.
“We designed a system that gives the investor control and flexibility – from peak shaving and increasing self-sufficiency to participation in the energy market,” explains Matic Slatinek, Sales Director at Termo Shop. “Solutions like this are no longer an experiment but a reality for industries that want to operate efficiently and responsibly.”
"This project clearly demonstrates how combining global technology with strong local engineering expertise can transform industrial energy management” adds Slatinek.
“Together with Sungrow and Krannich, we delivered a solution that sets a new benchmark for the region."
